St. Leo Parish Mission Statement

Responding to the Gospel through worship that reflects the cultural tradition of the African-American community where our church is located, and liturgies that draw people to a vibrant, life-giving experience in the spirit and Truth of the living Jesus, we are called as Church to:

Be a Catholic community whose parish family embraces all people;

Live out Jesus’ message of creating justice and peace by ministering to those in need, as a caring faith family, by sharing our resources, as well as ourselves with the community that surrounds us;

Accept responsibility as individual parish members by offering the stewardship of time, talent and resources;

Establish a climate where our youth feel nurtured, responsible and accepted as full members of the parish family;

Support education in our community, religious education for all our youth, continuing formation for adults, and developing lay leadership and lay ministers.
